Soccer Day
September 11, 2011
I love the football project day!! It would have been a great start to the day except our little van wouldn’t start! Apparently it is the battery!!! When we eventually got going we went to the huts where the boys who are trying to get off the streets live. My son Christopher, is going to Australia and gave me some clothes to bring out – the street boys were so excited and ran off to try on their new goodies! We also had some great clothes from my friend Katie, which fitted the little street boys too – happy days!
I really do love soccer day – the boys have had the most awful lives imaginable but to see the joy soccer followed by bread and milk brings is so humbling.
I had a lovely morning at the soccer with my Lucy – she is such a character! I brought her a baby doll which she proceeded to poke in the eye with a bottle – anyone know a good therapist for her! We sat watching the game and were surrounded by loads of local kids wanting to see her dolly – she wasn’t keen!
I then tried to get hold of the agent to see when we could get the keys to our house – but funnily enough he wasn’t able to get back to me! I am meeting him tomorrow at 10am – this is so frustrating!!! Anisha, Mary and I spent this afternoon doing a HUGE shopping list – we need everything!!! Do you know in a kitchen you need COOKING utensils!! Not in mine – I only use a microwave and a fork to pierce the packaging!!!
There is so much going on here – our lovely friend Mercy is still very very sick – we are praying for her to be comfortable at the very least. So so sad!
